Privacy policy
Effective 1 November 2026.
denumi is a shared pet care app made by Muhammad Zaki Al-Afrani, trading as discoverd (“we”). This policy explains what the app and this website collect, why, who else handles it, and how you can see or delete it. Questions or requests: [email protected].
The short version
- We collect only what the app needs to share pet care between the people in your home.
- There are no ads inside the app, and we never sell your data. To measure our own ads, the phone app uses Meta’s SDK (asking permission for tracking on iPhone) and RevenueCat to share installs, opens, a home being created or a second person joining (home ID only), and Plus trials or purchases. Never names, emails, pet names, photos or notes.
- The people in your home can see your name and the care you did there.
- You can delete your account and its data inside the app at any time.
What we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Account: your email address and name, from Google or Apple when you sign in (Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your email), and a sign-in ID. | To sign you in, and to show your name to the people in your home. |
| Your homes: home names, the people in them, and the time zone of your phone when you create a home. | So everyone in a home shares one list, at the right local time. |
| Your pets: names, dog or cat, how they look in the app (fur colors, pattern, ears and size) if you choose it, a face photo if you add one, and photos you add to a pet’s album, with who added each one and when. | To show your pets and their care, and to share an album with your home. |
| Routines and care: what is due when, notes such as a medicine dose, and who claimed or completed each task and when. | The shared list, reminders and history. |
| Invitations: a single-use code and, if you give one, a name for the invitation. | So the person you share the code with can join your home once. |
| denumi Plus: if you buy Plus, which plan, which store, the store’s transaction ID, when it started, renews, ends or was refunded. We never see your card or payment details: Apple or Google handle the payment. | To give your homes Plus, and to keep the records the law requires for sales. |
| Phone for reminders: a push notification token and whether the phone is iPhone or Android. | To send care reminders to your phone. |
| Ad measurement (phone app only): our own database stores only when a home first got a second person, and never stores advertising IDs. In the phone app (not on this website), Meta’s SDK automatically sends app installs and opens, plus “home created” and “second person joined a home” (each with only the home’s ID). With them, Meta’s SDK sends a random ID it creates on your phone (Meta anonymous ID), basic device and app details (such as phone model, system and app version, language), your IP address and your phone’s advertising ID: on iPhone only if you allow tracking when the app asks, after you create a home; on Android unless you deleted or reset it in Android settings. On iPhone, until you allow it or if you say no, those events are sent without the advertising ID and marked as not allowed for tracking, and Meta counts them only in aggregated ad measurement (Apple’s SKAdNetwork). If you start a Plus trial or buy Plus, RevenueCat sends Meta the plan, the price after the store’s commission, the Meta anonymous ID and (if allowed) the advertising ID; for iPhone purchases, RevenueCat sends this only when you allowed tracking. We never send Meta your name, email, pet names, photos, notes or anything you type. | To see which of our own ads work, and to count how many homes share care. |
The app asks for camera or photo access only when you choose to add a pet photo, and uploads only the photos you pick, made smaller first. It does not collect your location or contacts, and other than the ad-measurement events above it does not collect your advertising ID or usage analytics.
Photo suggestions. Two features send a photo to an AI service, and only when you ask for them. When you add a pet and tap “Suggest it from the photo”, that photo is sent to suggest the pet’s species and look. If you turn on “Guess who’s in photos”, each photo you add with the camera button in a home with two or more pets is sent together with your pets’ names and face photos, to suggest which pet it shows. You confirm or change every suggestion, and nothing is saved until you do. Your name and email are never sent. You can turn guessing off any time in Me → This phone.
The app also keeps some data on your phone: a copy of your homes so it works offline, care you did while offline until it is sent, and your sound and photo guessing settings. Deleting your account clears that copy from the phone.
Who can see your data
- People in the same home see that home’s pets, routines and history, including your name and the care you did. The home owner also sees open invitations and the names given to them. If you own a home while your Plus is live, its members see in home settings that the home has Plus from you.
- No one else using denumi can read your homes. Access rules on our database allow each home’s data to be read only by its members.
Services that handle data for us
These companies handle data to run denumi for you, except Meta, which measures our ads and also uses the data it receives under its own privacy policy:
| Service | What it does |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and photo storage. Your data is stored on servers in Seoul, South Korea. |
| Google and Apple | Sign-in, if you choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. |
| Expo, Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) | Delivering reminders. A reminder contains the care, the pet’s name and any medicine note, for example “Feed Milo”. |
| RevenueCat, Apple App Store and Google Play | Selling denumi Plus, if you buy it. RevenueCat receives your sign-in ID (not your name or email) and your purchase history from the store, to check purchases and tell us when they change. When you start a Plus trial or buy Plus, RevenueCat also sends Meta the plan, the price after the store’s commission, the Meta anonymous ID and (if allowed) your phone’s advertising ID; on iPhone, it sends this to Meta only if you allowed tracking. |
| Meta | Measuring our ads for the phone app (not used on this website). Meta receives app installs and opens, “home created” and “second person joined a home” (with only the home’s ID), and Plus trial start and purchase events from RevenueCat, together with a Meta anonymous ID, basic device and app details, your IP address and (if allowed) your phone’s advertising ID. Meta also uses this data under its own privacy policy, for example to measure and improve ads. |
| OpenRouter and TypeSafe | Photo suggestions, only when you use them (see above). OpenRouter passes the request to TypeSafe’s AI model, which answers fixed questions about the photo. |
| Cloudflare | Hosting this website. |
Because these services run in several countries, your data may be handled outside the country where you live. We do not share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account and homes for as long as you have an account.
- When you leave a home or are removed from it, the care you did stays in that home’s history.
- When you delete your account, we delete your account, the homes you own on your own (with their pets, routines, history and photos), and your phones’ reminder tokens. Care you did and album photos you added in other people’s homes stay there but no longer show your name: they show “Former member”. Ask that home’s owner, or remove a photo yourself before deleting your account, if you want it gone.
- If you bought Plus, we keep its purchase record after you delete your account, linked only to an ID that no longer leads to your name or email. It is kept for as long as the law requires for sales records. Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep their own records of the purchase under their policies.
- We keep no advertising IDs (or Meta anonymous IDs) in our database. We store only when a home first got a second person, for as long as that home exists. Meta keeps the ad-measurement data it receives under its own privacy policy.
- Copies in our hosting provider’s backups are removed when those backups expire.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account in the app under Me → Delete my account, or see how to delete your account.
- Stop reminders by turning off notifications for denumi in your phone’s settings, or by signing out.
- Stop photo guessing in Me → This phone, or simply don’t tap “Suggest it from the photo”.
- Stop or object to ad tracking: on iPhone, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (or say no when the app asks); on Android, go to Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID. You can also email [email protected] to object.
- See, correct or get a copy of your data by emailing [email protected] from the address you sign in with.
Depending on where you live (for example the UK, the European Union, California or Australia), you may have further rights, such as to object to how we use your data or to complain to your data protection authority. We use your account, home and pet data because it is needed to provide the app you asked for, and send reminders only with your phone’s notification permission. For ad measurement, our legal basis is your permission on iPhone, and elsewhere our legitimate interest in knowing which of our ads work, which you can object to.
Security
Data travels encrypted between the app and our servers, and database rules limit each home to its members. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects it, as the law requires.
Children
denumi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. For important changes, we will tell you before they apply, by email or in the app.
